During the Continuation War, in the summer of 1943, the villages of Yli-Vuokki, Tuppuri, Hyry, Malahvia, and Viianki, were subjected to partisan raids by Soviet forces, in which dozens of civilians were killed and wounded. Four memorials have been erected in their memory, with signs located along Malahviantie road. The names of the civilian victims are marked on the memorials, and there are also guest books at the sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
